A raised hardwood deck built to provide access to a primary school.
Each of the screws and bolts is precisely spaced and aligned.
The area under the deck was boxed in with Balau to match the deck and prevent the school children from playing underneath.
The hardwood decking was fixed to the frame in a chevron pattern.
The hardwood used for the chevron panels was colour graded to give an alternating light and dark effect.
Two sets of steps were built to allow around 300 children access to the classrooms each day.
The deck gives access to two classroom from the playground.
The steps had to be robust enough to withstand intense everyday use.
